Keep Your Handmade Pieces Beautiful for Years to Come
When you purchase a handmade resin piece from Wildly Inspired, you're not just buying a product, you're bringing home a little piece of preserved beauty, crafted with care and intention. Whether it’s a pressed flower tray, a custom keychain, or a set of decorative coasters, proper care will help your resin art stay clear, glossy, and gorgeous for years.
Here’s everything you need to know about caring for your resin creations.
1. Keep It Out of Direct Sunlight
Resin is sensitive to UV rays, which can cause yellowing or fading over time, especially for pieces with delicate flowers or light colours.
Tip: Display your piece in shaded or indoor spaces. If you’re using a resin tray or coaster, avoid long exposure to bright sunlight through windows.
2. Clean Gently
To clean your resin item, use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid scrubbing or using harsh chemicals, as they can damage the surface.
Do:
Use microfiber or soft cotton cloths
Clean with mild soap and lukewarm water (if needed)
Don’t:
Use alcohol, acetone, or strong cleaning products
Scrub with abrasive sponges or brushes
3. Avoid Heat and Flames
Resin can soften or warp if exposed to high heat. Never place hot pans, mugs, or candles directly on resin surfaces unless they are specifically labeled heat-resistant (and even then, it’s best to be cautious).
Tip: Use trivets if placing anything warm on your resin item. Don’t leave resin trays near stovetops, radiators, or in hot cars.
4. Protect from Prolonged Moisture
While resin is water-resistant, it’s not completely waterproof in all cases, especially if your piece contains organic materials like flowers or wood.
Don’t soak or submerge your resin items
Wipe spills quickly to prevent moisture buildup
Store in a dry place
5. Handle With Care
Though resin is durable, it can still chip, crack, or scratch—especially at thinner edges or finer details.
Treat your resin art like glass or ceramic: beautiful, but best handled gently.
Bonus: How to Refresh the Shine
Over time, your resin piece might lose a bit of its original gloss. You can restore its shine with a small amount of mineral oil or a resin-safe polish (just test on a hidden area first!).
Buff gently with a microfiber cloth
Avoid oils on pieces with embedded flowers unless you're confident it's sealed well
Keep the Beauty Alive
Your handmade resin art is designed to last but it deserves a little love along the way. With proper care, your piece will continue to capture attention, spark joy, and preserve memories just as beautifully as the day you received it.
